Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Whitnall High School, Herro is unranked by the 247Sports composite for the class of 2025, though 247Sports' own rankings list him as a three-star prospect and the No. 40 point guard in the country. He also played AAU ball for Team Herro, coached by his father, in Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League.
Standing 6-foot-3, Herro averaged 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a senior at Whitnall.
Herro joins four-star forward A'mare Bynum in the Buckeyes' 2025 freshman class. Four-star guard Dorian Jones also signed to play with Ohio State, but has since pushed back his college enrollment due to reported academic eligibility issues.
Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that Herro would not be on scholarship for Ohio State. He will, in fact, be on scholarship.
