Going forward, Chris Holtmann plans to have Ohio State participate in one early-season tournament per year.

This fall, the Buckeyes will play in the eight-team Battle 4 Atlantis event hosted in the Bahamas, also featuring Duke, Creighton, Memphis, Texas A&M, Utah, West Virginia and Wichita State. Early in the 2022-23 season, they're lined up to participate in a yet-to-be-determined Maui Invitational field.

Between then, Ohio State will partake in the 2021 Fort Myers Tip-Off, per Stadium's Jeff Goodman. It'll play two games in a field that also includes Seton Hall, California and Florida.

Though the Buckeyes didn't often play in early-season exempt tournaments under Thad Matta, they're expected to make these a regularity under Holtmann.
