UPDATE (3:11): Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch spoke with Thompson's dad, who says "decisions on draft day will be made after the season."

Sounds like somebody either spoke out of turn or Ohio State plans on redeeming its N.I.T. invite.

According to Indianapolis Star reporter Kyle Neddenriep, sourcing the family of Trevor Thompson, the Ohio State junior center will declare for the 2017 NBA Draft.

Originally a transfer from Virginia Tech, the 6'11" Thompson averaged 10.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.5 blocks in 22 minutes per game with the Buckeyes in 2017.

Thompson also declared for the 2016 draft before returning to Ohio State without having an agent. Only time will tell if this is another trial balloon or a real deal declaration.

The 2017 NBA Draft is June 22nd.
