The Big Ten is not expected to prohibit member schools from scheduling Texas Tech, according to The Athletic's Ralph D. Russo.

Russo reported Thursday that Big Ten athletic directors were scheduled to meet with commissioner Tony Petitti today. While some ADs wanted the conference to consider a league-wide ban on competing against the Red Raiders across all sports following Brendan Sorsby's court victory against the NCAA, the Big Ten is not expected to implement such a mandate.

The discussion stems from a Texas court's decision Monday to grant Sorsby a temporary injunction against the NCAA, restoring his eligibility after the governing body had permanently ruled him ineligible for gambling on NCAA sports. According to the NCAA's findings, Sorsby placed at least 40 wagers on Indiana football games while he played for the Hoosiers. The NCAA has appealed the ruling, arguing it undermines the integrity of college sports, but Sorsby is currently eligible to play for the Red Raiders in 2026 while the case proceeds through the courts.

Shortly after the court order was issued, administrators at Georgia and Nebraska informed their coaches they would not be permitted to schedule future games against Texas Tech.

The Big Ten plans to continue allowing schools to make those decisions on their own, two sources involved in the discussions told Russo.

Illinois has a men's basketball game against the Red Raiders scheduled for November, while Oregon is set to host Texas Tech in football in 2033.
