When you down the nation's No. 3 team on the road to take control of the Big Ten, it's probably a good time to capitalize on the excitement on the recruiting trail.

That's what Chris Holtmann has planned for Saturday's game against Iowa as the Buckeyes will play host to a number of top recruits, including a pair of 2019 prospects: five-star forward Alonzo Gaffney and three-star guard Joe Girard, according to Bill Landis of Cleveland.com.

Gaffney is rated as the No. 19 player in the 2019 class and is the top player in the state of Ohio. At 6-9, 190, Gaffney has the size and quickness of a dangerous scorer and is effective both inside and out. He also holds offers from Louisville, Michigan State, Georgetown and Kansas.

Girard is the nation's No. 17 combo guard and No. 168 player overall. Though he's rated as just a three-star prospect, he can score. He averages over 50 points a game and became New York's all-time leading scorer as just a junior, passing Lance Stephenson earlier this year, according to 247 Sports' Alex Gleitman.

These would be big gets for Ohio State. It's no wonder the Buckeyes want a raucous environment on Saturday evening, as the game approaches a sellout.

Big recruiting wins tend to follow big on-court wins. That could be the case in Columbus soon enough.
