Ohio State men’s tennis proved it’s one of the nation’s best teams once again with a pair of top-five wins this weekend.

The Buckeyes started off the weekend by earning a 4-1 win over Texas, the No. 5 team in the country, at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center on Friday.

Ohio State followed that up by earning a 4-0 win over the nation’s No. 1-ranked team, Wake Forest, in front of a Ty Tucker Tennis Center record crowd of 850 fans on Sunday.

The win over Wake Forest was Ohio State’s first win over a No. 1-ranked team since 2022, when the Buckeyes earned a 4-0 win over Tennessee on their home court.

Ohio State is now 6-0 on the season. The Buckeyes entered the weekend ranked sixth in the country, but will surely climb the rankings after two top-five wins, which were their first two ranked victories of the season.

The Buckeyes will clash with another one of the nation’s best teams next weekend when they host No. 2 Virginia at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Ohio State has won the last 19 consecutive Big Ten championships, but is still chasing the first NCAA team championship in program history.
