Trevor Lawrence shouts out Justin Fields

This Week in Twitter is our weekly look at some of the week's best and most entertaining tweets from current and former Ohio State players and other Ohio State accounts.

Trevor Lawrence. Justin Fields. Justin Fields. Trevor Lawrence.

The two all-time great college quarterbacks fought back-and-forth in high school for the No. 1 overall ranking in their 2018 recruiting class, and they went at it on the field in back-to-back College Football Playoffs.

So it shouldn't be surprising that, throughout their many years of being high-level quarterbacks and being associated neck-and-neck with each other, that they have gained a mutual respect for each other.

Well, game recognize game. After Fields' impressive pro day performance, Lawrence shouted him out on social media.

Just another tiny chapter in the book of those two being compared to each other throughout the rest of their NFL careers.

And speaking of NFL careers, apparently there are people out there who are questioning Fields' work ethic and love for football, despite the glowing reviews about his work ethic and love for football throughout his two years in Columbus.

Bringing those peoples' opinions to the forefront of the pre-draft conversation got ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky into some hot water with Buckeye fans and many others this week.

Which had Orlovsky doing some backtracking the very next day.

And that led to The Draft Network's Benjamin Solak pointing out that Fields got destroyed in the Sugar Bowl and came back one play later to throw a touchdown pass in a critical moment. Wonder if it's because he loves the game.

There have been a few instances in the past in which former Buckeyes who transferred out of the program still had positive things to say about the coaching staff. Think all the way back to when Ohio State 2022 commit C.J. Hicks told Eleven Warriors that his cousin, receiver L'Christian "Blue" Smith, transferred from Ohio State to Cincinnati but still had a major admiration for the staff in Columbus.

Looks like there's plenty of that going around as Mookie Cooper, former Buckeye and now-Mizzou Tiger, still has plenty of respect for the veterans who showed him the way in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Speaking of former Buckeyes respecting their pro day, Dwayne Haskins was showing some love too.

If you love #BracketSZN and you're missing Ohio State football, there's nothing you'll love to look at more than the bracket contest of top Buckeye moments that the football program's official Twitter account has been pushing out over the past couple of weeks.

And if part of that yearn for Ohio State football is seeing Michigan misery, then at least Twitter user @kbonay gave you a small fix after the Wolverines' upset loss to UCLA in the Elite Eight.

We've talked before about Gee Scott Jr.'s upbringing and how he has been around NFL greats such as Bobby Wagner, Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman in Seattle.

Well, with Scott apparently moving positions from receiver to tight end, Scott's father reached out to Sherman to gauge his thoughts on the position switch. It's all thumbs up from the All-Pro cornerback.

On a final note, baseball is back!

And the Reds' and Indians' seasons are already over.

But anyway, in honor of MLB getting back into action, here's a video from some former Buckeyes' first pitches in their professional settings.

Other than Chase Young (and not including Joe Burrow) who is going to be the next former Buckeye to throw out a first pitch and in what city will it be?
