It was a cold day in Columbus for baseball, but despite the weather, Ohio State stayed hot on Sunday afternoon.

The Buckeyes collected a 5-4 extra-innings win over Georgetown at Bill Davis Stadium, scoring four runs in the final two innings of the game to come away with the victory.

Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth, senior Tyler Cowles blasted a one out two-run homer over the left field wall to send the game to extra innings.

After the Hoyas regained a one-run lead in the top of the 10th, Brady Cherry collected a one-out, one-run double to tie the game again before Noah McGowan sent everyone home with a walk-off single between third and short.

The win gives Ohio State its eight in nine games, and pushes its overall record to 16-7 on the year. The Buckeyes, who only won 22 games all of last season, are set to return to action Wednesday at home against Toledo before opening conference play against Nebraska on March 30th for a three-game series.
