History has been made.

The No. 3 Ohio State women's tennis team refused to be outdone by their male counterparts. Following the men's victory on Saturday, the women topped No. 6 Texas Tech on Sunday to earn their own invite to the NCAA semifinals.

Things were set to get underway at 11 a.m. but got pushed back to 4 p.m.due to rainy weather conditions. The match was set to take place in Athens but was eventually moved to an indoor facility on Georgia Tech's campus.

The quarterfinal featured two of the hottest teams in the country. The Buckeyes had won 17-straight matches while the Red Raiders had been victorious in 19 of their last 20. Both teams were looking to reach the semifinals for the first time in program history.

Ohio State made short work of Texas Tech, sweeping the Red Raiders 4-0. The Buckeyes won the doubles point then Ferny Angeles Paz, Miho Kowase and Anna Sanford each won in straight sets to clinch the victory.

The 4-0 sweep was Ohio State's third of the tournament. The Buckeyes have outscored their opponents 16-1 throughout NCAA Tournament play.

The Semifinal is set to get underway on Monday at 4 p.m.. Ohio State will face No. 7 Stanford after the Cardinal took down No. 2 North Carolina Sunday evening.

The NCAA championship match — should the Buckeyes make it that far — will take place on Tuesday at 5 p.m.. The match will be aired on ESPNU.
