No word on if Harbaugh has called dibs on this guy, too.
"Lombardo is a familiar name in Northeast Ohio football circles, having led Highland the past eight seasons, including an 8-3 mark last fall.
His Hornets teams have gone 61-29 with five Division II playoff appearances, including a run to the state semifinals in 2013. That season, which ended in a semifinal loss to Glenville, set a school record with 13 wins against one loss.
Lombardo replaces Rick Finotti, who left for the director of football operations position at the University of Michigan.
Finotti coached the Eagles to two Division I state championships in his six seasons, including the 2014 championship, and went 62-15.
Lombardo served as a St. Edward assistant coach for five seasons, where his duties included offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator.
Lombardo was Lake Catholic’s head coach for three seasons. He led the Cougars to three playoff berths, punctuated by winning the Division III state championship in 2001.
Lombardo is the son-in-law of former St. Edward football coach John Gibbons, who was fired in January of 2007 after eight seasons, which included an 81-22 record and seven straight playoff appearances."
