A friend sent me this. You will have to be a little knowledgeable about older players to agree with some of these teams; for example people are whining in the comments about Billy Hamilton being chosen over Mike Trout for New Jersey, but the writer is referring to the Hamilton who played just before 1900. He had a lifetime .344 average and stole over 100 bases 4x.
The writer did not include every state, probably because some state had trouble fielding a team of worthy players. Read the comments because one guy does his own research and list the teams for the other states. The comments also point out some errors, but I did not check to see if they actually were.
Regardless, an interesting read. I would give the edge to these 5 states in no particular order...California, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Ohio has a decent team and would be in my next five.
