Kaleb Wesson finished with 49 points for Westerville South in a losing effort

Just back from Upper Arlington where a pair of future Ohio State basketball players went head-to-head as 2018 pledge Dane Goodwin squared off with 2017 signee Kaleb Wesson and Westerville South.

Upper Arlington won, 68-67, on a buzzer beating 3-pointer by Max Martz. Ohio State assistant coach Greg Paulus along with point guard JaQuan Lyle and freshman wing Andre Wesson were in attendance.

Goodwin scored 35 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Upper Arlington. He was on fire from deep, too, as he made 8-of-13 attempts from behind the 3-point line. He can really score it in a variety of ways, but tonight it was the long ball that was definitely working for him.

Wesson scored a career-high 49 points for Westerville South and was 15-for-19 from the field. Perhaps even more impressive, though, was the fact that the big man was 18-for-19 from the free-throw line. It's not an anomaly, either, he is a really good free throw shooter.

UA didn't have a ton of size so it was easy for him to get position, but he finished through contact all night and made his free throws. Wesson scored 35 of his team's 37 second-half points.

I'm going to have a full story on the front page tomorrow morning at some point, but here are some highlights I was able to capture.

The game-winner wasn't hit by either Ohio State commit, but here it is just because it was an awesome finish to a great high school basketball game.
