Tempo, specifically the lack of tempo, is my biggest concern heading into these playoffs. Ryan Day seems to get off by limiting possessions & shortening games as much as possible. In our last outing we had 3 possessions in the second half (must’ve felt like a wet dream for him), unfortunately this culminated in zero points because our red zone woes were compounded & couldn’t be made up.

Ryan Day has always been one of the best coaches in the country. I understand everyone evolves & changes, I just find it odd that he’s morphing into a guy that wants to win 20-10 instead of 42-17. 

Personally, I don’t like it. I don’t think it benefits our team. We have better players, we are more explosive, simple logic concludes the more plays we run, the more likely we are to pull away from our opponents.

His obsession with slowing things down can turn games into a small sample size crapshoot. Some think he’s just been biding his time & waiting to unleash his team full throttle in the playoffs, I’m more inclined to believe it’s hard to flip the switch & play a different style than you have all yr.

This team has all the makings of being special, could’ve been an all-time great. I just don’t think it’ll be remembered that way because of a self-imposed governor over the engine that is intentionally limiting explosiveness.
