No matter how much I want to ride things out with my guys and see this thing through to the end, it’d probably be best to break off and let Day take over for the playoffs. The world is much different than it was a decade ago when Herman only had to plan for two games and didn’t have the portal to deal with. Over the next 4 weeks, here’s what he has on his plate for the South Florida job:

1. Meet the current players on the team.

2. Convince them not to transfer out

3. Assemble a staff

4. Hire a GM

5. Determine my NIL budget and prioritize needs for the portal

6. Portal opens on Jan 2nd. I’d need to spend those two weeks aggressively recruiting guys to come to S FL.

We already saw how chaotic this week was with being able to game plan just off of interviewing for another job, accepting the job, and letting to convince CHJ and Guilford not to flip.
