What is your favorite play in terms of execution that Brian Hartline dialed up?
Mine is the Brandon Innis touchdown. Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate are both lined up wide on either side, and Max Klare is in the slot. Brandon Innis motions behind Klare. Michigan has six guys in pass coverage with two safeties basically on the hashes and 4 db’s marking each receiver.
Smith and Tate command the attention of both safeties as they drift toward their respective sidelines at the snap. Julian immediately reads the action and with Klare rubbing off a defender Brandon Innis is absolutely, positively wide open for the easy catch and score. The guy closest to defending this play is probably the official who smartly hustles out of the way.
This play looks totally undefendable with only six defensive backs in coverage. TD every time. Brilliant in design and execution.
