I never doubted how good of a man Ryan Day was, nor did I ever doubt his coaching IQ. I am one of the old guys that still believes that the success of a season begins and ends with the outcome of this game. I had to endure the Cooper years, then I got to enjoy the Tressel and Urban runs. The scars from the Cooper failures really began to resurface the last four years as Ryan Day was doing his best at trying to not lose versus trying to win. Even after the historic run of last year's playoffs I still needed to see that same killer instinct in this game. Finally we got it!!! I loved the game plan from start to finish and I really loved how his players celebrated with the fans and did not have to act like asshats. I loved Ryan Day's comments during his press conference and the way he handled himself throughout. For all of this I am happy to apologize for doubting if Coach Day could get it done in this game. He is a great coach but probably a better person and I am truly happy for him and everyone associated with the program. They deserve this win and I hope they really enjoy it!!
