I keep coming back to the slightly conspiratorial theory that the refs for Saturday are gonna get a memo from Big 10 bigwigs to flag us often for PI for our physical DB play. We already know that we are held to a different standard than the rest of the conference when it comes to flags, not to mention the narrative of guys like IGB and Sanchez (if I'm remembering one of our recent games correctly where he got flagged a few times) playing overly handsy and physical. No better way to prove a competitive, parity-rich conference than to have a very mid TCUN team momentarily dethrone the mighty Buckeyes at the end of the year. A TCUN win benefits TCUN and USC, and a bolstered USC benefits Oregon. An undefeated OSU benefits OSU, who doesn't really need a TCUN win or a Big 10 champsionship berth or title to punch a CFP ticket. We win, we get in with Indiana and Oregon. They win, it's the same, but with the cheaters in as well.
I just don't trust Big 10 officiating, their OSU bias, or the conference heads to keep this game fair. Does anybody else have this concern kicking around in their head? I'm sure Day & Co. would say "leave no doubt", but if the game is close, that officiating nonsense can really turn things dramatically.
Thoughts?
