Ohio State won 34-0. The line was 25.5. The game threads seem to run 80% on comments based in dismal frustration. Wildest to me are the comments that “if we play like this against so and so” as if Ryan Day is treating a meaningless mid-October game at 2-4 Wisconsin as if this were the Rose Bowl, a CFP semifinal, or the NCG. It is abundantly clear that a load management approach is in play for what will hopefully be a 16-game season.
Pre-season #1 Texas fell out of the rankings at one point.
Pre-season #2 fired their head coach mid-season after dropping 3 games.
This week’s #2 team, Miami lost.
Clemson is toast.
Bama lost early in the year to FSU.
Heading into the bye week, only 1 of 7 opponents has scored double digits on OSU. The Buckeyes have scored 24 points or more in each game outside of the season opener, breaking in a new QB against the then #1 team in the country.
Sure, special teams is a mess. But the woefully negative comments traversed all facets and aspects of the game.
It’s like for some, the enjoyment comes not in the appreciation of watching the football team they root for pile on win after win, but rather in decisively pointing out each and every potential Achilles heel from any plays not run to perfection so they can look back, point to that one comment, and say “I called it!”
