I work with several Penn State fans who are as obnoxious as the day is long. The last couple weeks have been delightful and I always loved the Monday after the weekend we had to play PSU. Over the last 5ish seasons I never took them seriously as a national title contender because of their coach who had no clue how to win a close game. Is it concerning to you that they finally fired the guy and may get another coach who can actually win? One thing to consider is they’re losing recruits currently and whoever comes in is gonna have work to do (although with the modern transfer portal you can build a team quicker it seems). Are we gonna look back and wish James Franklin was still at PSU or is it more plausible they pull a Nebraska/Wisconsin where they gave up 9 wins a year for mediocrity in a failed attempt to become national title contenders?
