All,

Just like last year, I'm doing the 'Tickets as Low As' week by week for the Big Ten (or it it B1G).  This offers in indication on where the excitement may lie in the upcoming week.  As always I checked ESPN's scoreboard and noted the 'Tickets as low as' value.  And, this doesn't take into account fees and other expenses ticket sites tack on.

Well, Opening Day is in 17, 18, or 19 days from now.  There are 5 games on August 23rd, but week 0 is bereft of B1G affairs.

Week 1 - As Low As Index
Home Away Date As Low As Notes
Maryland Florida Atl. *Saturday $6 ha ha, they have a noon game
Wisconsin Miami (OH) Thursday $7
Purdue Ball State *Saturday $7 idiots, there's no state called Ball
Illinois Western Illinois Friday $7 #Bert
Tulane Northwestern *Saturday $8 not a typo, NW is away (and underdog)
Washington Colorado St. Saturday $10 ooh, double digits now
Penn St. Nevada Saturday $14 That's it? $14 for the 'team to beat' in B1G
Minnesota Buffalo Thursday $18 **technically, matchup between 'voted teams'
USC Missouri St. Saturday $18 Welcome to FBS, Missouri State.  Have a ball.
Iowa U of Albany Saturday $24 FCS team takes on the 3x B1G COY
Rutgers Ohio Thursday $26
Indiana Old Dominion Saturday $26 ehh
Oregon Montana St. Saturday $30 you have got to be kidding me?!?!?
MSU Western Mich Friday $52 can someone smart explain this high price?
Michigan New Mexico Saturday $80 Calm before the hammer?
UCLA Utah Saturday $101 11 PM kickoff fun (Utah favored 6.5)
Cincy Nebraska Thursday $145
OSU Texas Saturday $314 National Champs host #1 team

*noon games, yay CBS!!!!
Well, there's 18 non-conference games for the Big Ten.  16 home games while Northwestern & Nebraska travel on labor day weekend.  And, three in-state matchups, not rivals (Ill/Western Ill, WMU/MSU, Ball St/Indy)  Let's take a look at the divisions.

CHEAPER THAN A COMBO MEAL Division ($10 or Less) - 6 games

  • Maryland, you never ascended, enjoy your cupcake.
  • Wisconsin, enjoy the cradle of coaches.
  • Purdue, keep on bragging about 2018.
  • #Bert
  • Tulane - not a typo, they host and are favored against Northwestern
  • Hi, we're Washington, and we're in the B1G.  Don't forget we exist.

In the Teens Division ($14-$18) - 3 games

  • Penn State, is this the year?
  • **Minnesota and Buffalo received votes in the coaches poll.  this is #46 vs #51.
  • USC -- I was at the the Colosseum when they hosted OSU in 2008 (don't ask)

THE ROARING TWENTIES Division - 4 games

  • Iowa, can you leave the B1G already?
  • Rutgers, you can finally get that win over Ohio
  • Indiana, you beat up on weaklings, you don't fool me.
  • Oregon, you led 2024 in regular season excellence.  How'd that work out for you?

GETTING PRICEY $52 to $145 - 4 games

  • Western Mich @ MSU is $52.  Smart people, please explain this one to me.
  • GO NEW MEXICO!!!
  • UCLA, Chip left you for a reason.
  • Nebraska, you'll win, make us proud.  Cincy is overinflated.

#1/1 Texas @ #2/3 OSU division: $π*100

  • The champions come home!
  • Texas, I expect you to travel hard as you lead the game in offseason regrets.
    • 1st and goal from the 1, and how the hell did you screw that one up so bad?
