Four-star 2026 cornerback Jordan Thomas commits to Ohio State.
The B1G only has two teams that have a pulse on offense with a defense to back it up. That sums it up. This harkens back to the B1G 2 and little 12 (used to be little 8).
It's getting bleak; thankfully, conference expansion will elevate the B1G.
Regardless of how OSU and Stalion's former team perform next week the B1G East is decided on November 25th.
PSU, the B1G's Paper Tiger, is a quality QB away from being relevant.
Two realities: despite 7 years as a top 15 team they're bereft of QB development, and the B1G is really struggling if Drew Allar commands their 3rd best team.
On Paper, OSU and PSU's 5 Star QBs stack up.
QB | 247 ranking | 247 National QB Ranking | 2023 ypg | 2023 % | 2023 TD | 2023 Int |
McCord | 0.9858 | 28 | 268.7 | 66.3 | 20 | 4 |
Allar | 0.9852 | 32 | 196.5 | 61.3 | 21 | 1 |
However, the eye test indicates zero poise when windows are tight and/or pressure is coming. If you think the same about McCord, rewatch OSU's final drive vs. Notre Dame.
Even Sadder, Iowa is the 4th best team.
- LAST in FBS in ypg. 243 ypg on offense is 17 yards worse than the second worst team in all of FBS.
- 123/133 in points per game (and that includes defensive and special team's points).
- One of 4 B1G teams with a winning conference record. Already clinched a tie for division. How?
The B1G's 5th best team? Nobody.
The 'New Hires' will do very well. PSU and Iowa lose easily to Oregon, & Washington, and likely USC (Grinch is gone) and perhaps UCLA. Expect all other B1G teams to be underdogs to the new hires.
PSU would've won the tie breaker hands down. They beat the only B1G West team with a winning record.
