The B1G is top Heavy: OSU, PSU, Michigan. After that, is (6-1) Iowa #4?
Iowa beat the only other team with a pulse in the West, defeating Wisconsin 15-6. Only one offensive touchdown that day (both sides of the ball).
Iowa only played one of B1G's big 3, PSU, and lost 31-0 while mustering only 33 offensive plays and 76 yards of offense. That game rang familiar to last year's beatdown vs the Bucks; despite that, they control their destiny to Indianapolis.
They will be favored in all their remaining games (Minnesota, Northwestern, Rutgers, Illinois, & Nebraska). And since they own the win over Wisconsin, they can go 4-1 (assuming OSU beats Wisconsin in 2 weeks) and play the B1G East winner.
They're basically a 2003-esque Tresselball team. Great D, Great Punter, and let's not worry about offense. Tresselball head coaches deflect all questions or concerns about the offensive coordinator.
It's no secret the B1G East is better than the B1G west. But it's amazing to see a team like Iowa cakewalk to a division title.
They need to enjoy this format while it exists as it's the last time they'll earn a B1G title berth for as long as Ferentz (and his son) are around.
The B1G (L)East dissolves this year and the 'new hires' will likely create a new wave of irrelevance in Iowa City.
In 2024 they have Washington, OSU, & UCLA.
In 2025 it gets worse: Oregon, USC, & Penn State.
