This article and its comments section make for interesting reading now that it's been three years since Day first came aboard. When Ohio State first hired Ryan Day as its QB coach, very few of us knew anything about him. There was little outright skepticism in the hire, as he came with a good pedigree, but no one could have foreseen what a momentous occasion it was.
Lots of people--rightly so--will point to Larry Johnson as Meyer's best assistant hire (and either Tim Beck or Bill Davis as his worst), but I'd say there's a decent argument for Ryan Day being Meyer's biggest home run hire.
I say with absolute certainty that if Day stays here more than 3 years (and I think he will), he'll win us a national title. Maybe he'll win us a few. Maybe he'll establish a dynasty. Whatever happens, I think it's going to be a fun ride. Go Buckeyes!
