Yesterday, I posted about the 2020 offense being potentially better due to a number of factors like Fields having another year in the system and getting better plus replacing departing talent with even better talent, potentially... except for JK.
Here’s my projection for starting D & backups:
CB: Banks, Johnson
CB: Brown, Shaw
Slot C: Riep, Williamson
Safety: Proctor, Hooker
MLB: Borland, Mitchell
WLB: Browning, Gant
SLB: Werner, Pope
DE: Harrison, Friday
DE: Cooper, Smith
DT: Togai, Jackson
DT: Vincent, Garrett
Bullet: Wint, Craig Young
4-4 LB: Hilliard, Eichenberg
Would help a lot of Wade returns. There’s talent here but I can’t see them dominating like our defense did this year. We are thin at corner for sure. Shaw was recruited star safety but has been practicing with corners. Johnson was a safety in HS and is still learning corner.
Our LBs need to step up. They played better this year but, Clemson exposed them...as all good teams have...as being good not great. I have supported these guys and credited their improvement, but we need great LB play again at OSU.
D-line has a lot of experience but needs to collectively step up to replay base Young’s production and leadership.
