After being waived by New Orleans earlier this month, J.T. Barrett has landed in Seattle where he'll hope to compete for the backup quarterback gig with Paxton Lynch and Geno Smith.
The move comes as Smith is expected to be sidelined for 7-10 days due a cyst on his knee that will be removed. With Smith out of action for Seattle's next preseason game, August 18th against the Minnesota Vikings, Barrett gives the Seahawks a necessary third quarterback.
The Seahawks also picked up linebacker Juwon Young, leading to Chris Worley's departure after Seattle signed him last Tuesday.
