Most of us have heard the numbers all day. 82-9 overall, a National Title, three Big Ten Titles, 7-0 vs ttun, 7-0 as a vegas underdog, 5-2 in playoff or NY6 bowl games (with another one pending).
But an amazing stat that I think may be overlooked. Under Urban Meyer, Ohio State has a record of 6-2 when playing teams ranked in the AP Top 5.

Say what you will about back to back seasons with 29+ point losses to a 7-5 or 6-6 team. When playing a top-tier opponent, Urban's Buckeyes were almost always up to the challenge.
How other Ohio State coaches fared in this statistic (Ohio State vs. AP Top 5)
Jim Tressel: 4-8. Ended his career losing six in a row.
John Cooper: 3-8. All three of his wins came in the 1996 season (Notre Dame, Penn State, Arizona State).
Earle Bruce: 2-2-1.
Woody Hayes: 15-14-3. Very respectable over such a long career. Would have been even better had he retired sooner, as his teams lost five in a row between 1976 and 1978.
Congratulations on an awesome career and thank you for everything, Urban. Go and enjoy some much needed time off.
