Pregame speeches can appear watered down and clichéd. The voice they need to hear before taking the field Saturday is Jacob Jarvis’. This guy is an inspiration to everyone he comes into contact with and is enduring a true life battle. He takes it all in stride and hides no emotion when it comes to his love for Ohio State football. A friend of mine and I were discussing our thoughts on Saturday when the topic of the importance of a pregame speech. With a record high number of team captains we hadn’t really seen anyone step forward and be as vocal as John Simon or JT etc. I’m not local to 614 and not sure if he can be there in person but Jacob could breathe some fresh air into a locker room that sorely needs it.
