This is something I've been thinking about for a while. I love the musical traditions of Ohio State football, the excellence of the OSU marching band and the magic of seeing Script Ohio unfurl so seamlessly that you almost forget the band members aren't pixels, but even the best things must diversify and expand.

Here are a few songs I'd like to see the Ohio State marching band play/play more often:

-Der Erlkonig by Franz Schubert. Despite being two centuries old, this German composition is still stridently martial with its opening movement that mimics the gallop of a horse's hooves. I think playing the opening bars of Der Erlkonig when the offense is going up-tempo and marching down the field would be perfect for amping up the crowd and players

-Enter Sandman by Metallica

That one needs no introduction or explanation

-The Dragonheart Theme. Dragonheart was one of my favorite movies as a kid (who couldn't love a movie where Sir Sean Connery plays a talking dragon who teams up with a dragonslayer to con entire villages?), and the theme always gave me the sniffles--it's that perfect blend of awe, inspiration, and sadness that makes for a great central theme. I'd love to hear it playing during the middle of a game.
