We all saw it. Couple weeks ago (after OU game), an article came out mentioning Ohio State was dead last (129th) in passing defense. Ofcourse, we went up against Indiana, who had negative rushing yards all game until the 4th quarter but threw the ball 65 times. Then ofcourse, Baker MayNotYourField threw all over Ohio States secondary. Now, all of these are pretty much meaningless as they are going to change dramatically as we head into the cupcake waters of our schedule.
Lets take a look at where the Buckeyes stand now and some rather surprising stats.
Passing Defense: We made the jump after Army/UNLV from 129th to 67th overall.
Total Defense: Surprise! We rank 57th overall. Shit
Team Sacks: 29th
Team Tackles for Loss: 2nd. Guess whos first? Penn State....
Rushing Offense: 24th
Heres where the most surprises linger...
Passing Offense:14th.
Total Offense: 9th
Passing Efficiency: 22nd Huh must be all those short passes.
First Down Offense: 3rd
First Down Defense: 97th
Kickoff Returns: 4th
Tackles for loss allowed: 10th.
Not bad.. Just ranked higher than expected and ranked way lower than expected based on what we point out as our strengths and our weaknesses.
