What a night in 2015. Somehow by television agreements and by a weak slate of games, Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler (known for calling one of the weeks biggest games), found themselves giving the play-by-play of an absolute beatdown.
The 2nd most memorable thing about that night was Fowler and Herbstreit poking fun of the guys in charge of firing off the cannon after Rutgers scored, which of course they did not do until very late in the game. That is the 2nd most memorable thing you ask. So what is #1?
The most memorable thing about that game was that Urban Meyer finally FINALLY listened to #BuckeyeNation, and benched the strong armed quarterback in favor of the quarterback who was cool, calm, and efficient. The week before, as he engineered the red-zone offense, chants rained down "JT, JT, JT" Urban announced on Monday that JT had earned the right to start, and the Buckeye fans rejoiced. That Saturday, JT engineered a smooth 49-7 crushing of Rutgers, and proved the fans were right. HE was the man for the job.
Man, how two years can change things.
