The contest between OSU & OK is shaping up to be a good one. It will match strength (OSU defensive line) on strength (OK Offensive line). The question will be if our LBs and DBs can slow down Mayfield and Andrews. I don't see a RB on the roster that is on the level of Mixon or Perine. OK will have to pass, a lot, to win.
The best way to beat OK, then? Keep Mayfield of the field and when he's on it, make sure he has a long way to go to score. Ball control, field position, and defense controlling the LOS.
In short, play Tressel-ball. It might actually be true that Urban's offense is a sexier and more aggressive version of Tressel ball. He prioritizes the same things but goes about them differently. He likes more offense, but he's not trying to be a "basketball on turf" team.
We have a QB, 2 RBs, WRs, and punter that can make this happen. I can't see OK stopping our RBs and quick passes to control the game.
How would you game plan for Oklahoma?
