Why so many posts that Barrett is not a good passer?

I see many say he only pads stats on easy teams; JT vs MSU at MSU 16 of 24 300 yards passing and 3 TDs and 2 rushing.

I think a lot has to do with play calling...

J.T. Barrett No. 1 for passer rating

Ohio State freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett has both the top career and season passer ratings in Ohio State history, and ranks third for passing yards in a season, throwing for 2,834 yards before being injured during the 2014 Michigan game.

Joe Germaine in 1998 and Bobby Hoying in 1995 are the only two OSU quarterbacks to pass for at least 3,000 yards in a single season. Hoying's total was 3,269 yards; Germaine's 3,354 yards.

However, as is the case with so many records in college football, today's players such as Barrett have longer seasons. Barrett played in 12 games. Germaine set the record with a 12-game season, Hoying played in 13 games in 1995.

Barrett's 236 yards per game ranks third, behind Germaine (278 yards) and Hoying (252 yards), and just ahead of Art Schlichter's 213 yards per game in 1981.

Schlichter is the OSU career passing leader with 7,547 yards from 1978 through 1981. Hoying is second with 7,232 yards.

For passer rating among quarterbacks with at least 100 attempts in a season, Barrett is first (169.9), followed by Kenny Guiton in 2013 (165.2), Hoying in 1995 (163.4) and Troy Smith in 2005 (162.7).
