Is JT Barrett CFB's MVP?

In my opinion, through three games the answer is yes.

He may not win the Heisman. He may not be a good pro. He may not be the fastest or most athletic even on his own team. He may not have the strongest arm.

So what?

On a team flowing over with outstanding contributors JT can get  overlooked. But he's got everything you want in a championship QB. If anyone's looking for a good example, watch the series after OU's kick return for touchdown. It's 14-7, the momentum has swung, the crowd's pumped and OSU is backed up. Barrett's numbers aren't great. About 23 yards on four carries and one of two throwing for three yards. But it accounts for one TD, two big first downs, one safety trucked and a 300 pound defensive lineman out muscled for two crucial yards. If you watch just that drive, you can see it all on low key display. In 4 1/2 minutes over 89 yards, JT Barrett broke the Oklahoma Sooners.

He takes everything you give. Moving people around, changing plays, reading the entire field, making positive yards with his legs, JT is the consumate point guard. He's so smart and so far along in his development that he makes it look easy. He's so calm and patient, so ready to turn it up or down that you can miss the fact that he's bleeding you dry.

Feel free to disagree, feel free to say it's too early or that we shouldn't raise expectations but I don't think it's going to matter. With Barrett at the controls this team is going to feast in 2016.
