StuffedIn the 127th season-opener, Bowling Green had its stats stuffed.
BOWLING GREEN'S OFFENSIVE NUMBERS

In 2015, Bowling Green finished the season as the nation's fourth-ranked offense in total yards (546.8) and averaged 42.2 points per game (6th). With a new coach and new starters, the Falcons were totally dominated by Ohio State's young, but talented defense.

BG only scored 10 points and was held to just under 303 yards below its 2015 average in total yards.

BOWLING GREEN'S DEFENSIVE NUMBERS

Ohio State racked up 776 yards – a program record – against the Falcons' defense. This was only the sixth time in program history the team scored 77 or more points in a game.

77 Points or More
YEAR OPPONENT SCORE
1916 OBERLIN 128-0
1935 DRAKE 85-7
1950 IOWA 83-21
1904 MIAMI, OH 80-0
1892 MARIETTA 80-0
2016 BOWLING GREEN 77-10

Ohio State's offensive leaders were Mike Weber with 136 yards rushing (7.2 ypc).  Curtis Samuel had a game-high 177 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. J.T. Barrett finished the game 21-of-31 (.677) for 349 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Barrett tied the Ohio State record for passing touchdowns in a game and set the all-time record with 7 total touchdowns.

Nine different receivers had receptions and accounted for seven touchdowns. The Buckeyes running game averaged 6.5 yards per carry and tallied three touchdowns.

BOWLING GREEN'S SPECIAL TEAMS

Joseph Davidson had a fine game punting as he averaged 46.6 yards per punt and had a long of 60. He consistently hit solid line drives that made it difficult for Ohio State's punt returners to get to the ball before it rolled. Kicker Jake Suder made his 33-yard field goal and extra point.

The Falcons' Scott Miller averaged 17.7 yards per return with a long of 26, but was frequently stopped inside the 25 yard line.
