Today's Trivia Questions:
- When was the last time Indiana won a Big Ten Championship in football?
- What is the most amount of points Ohio State has scored against Indiana in Columbus?
Freshman Arm:
J.T. Barrett left Minneapolis with a 31-24 victory and three Ohio State records. Barrett set a school record for longest touchdown run by a quarterback (86) and most rushing yards in a game by a quarterback (189) against the Gophers. To top the game off Barrett now holds the record for most touchdowns responsible for in a season (38).
J.T. Barrett has now completed 64% of his passes for 2,356 yards, 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Seasoned Sophomore:
Ezekiel Elliott is making an impact on the 2014 season. Elliott is 46 yards shy of becoming Urban Meyer's second 1,000 yard rusher. For the season Ezekiel has rushed for 954 yards (5.7 ypc) and 7 touchdowns.
Freshman Legs:
Jalin Marshall drew the ire of some fans for fumbling inside the five and muffing a punt at the 10. I know I have written that I prefer other players handling punt return duties because of Marshall's questionable decisions. From last week:
“I know many people were happy to see Jalin Marshall get the nod as punt returner, but I am not one of them...Jalin Marshall is good, really good. However, Marshall still makes me nervous receiving punts (first punt return against MSU)."
I hope Marshall is returning punts this week and does a phenomenal job. I would love to see Jalin Marshall get Ohio State's first punt return for a touchdown since the 2012 game against Wisconsin.
Curtis Samuel did not have a carry against Minnesota. Samuel has now gone two straight games without a carry. I'm kind of surprised he is not getting any carries to relieve Ezekiel Elliott. Especially when Samuel is averaging 7.0 ypc.
