So we all know that any team with a chip on their shoulder going up against the Buckeyes likes to talk smack leading up to the game. Thats expected and entertaining and cute. But I seem to be hearing more of it than usual from the fans of our forgotten in-state sibling this week. And is it just me or does it seem to be a bit more over the top than usual?
For example, my younger sister goes to UC, is not at all a football fan, has maybe been to half a dozen UC games in her 4 years there, and has suddenly become an expert on UC's chances this weekend.
Actual conversation we had that made me roll my eyes (though more for contexual ignorance than level of trash talk):
sis: UC is SO going to beat Ohio State this weekend!
me: hmmm well it should be a good game but I think we'll be ok.
sis: pshh, you guys are just scared now that you lost your star quarterback!
me: who?
sis: you know, your star quarterback is gone so you guys are going to suck
me: really? and what's his name?
sis: your quarterback, you know who I'm talking about
me: yea, but do you? do you know his name?
sis: huh?
me: darling, every football fan in the state of Ohio knows Braxton Miller's name
sis: ...we are still going to beat you
me: ok then. *head pat*
sis: *scowl*
Im just curious, what random, ridiculous, or slightly absurd trash talk have other people encountered leading up to this game?
