I realize with an overall losing record there’s essentially a zero percent chance at the Buckeyes making the NCAA tournament unless they win the bigten tournament but… objectively the men’s team has:

- current NET ranking of 46

- strength of schedule of 9 nationally 

- 10 quad 1 and 2 wins (quality wins) 

- 2 quad 3 and 4 losses (bad losses)

Teams with worse NET rankings and fewer quality wins will make the tournament. Ohio State is just held back by the fact that they played so many quad 1 teams and lost several of them. If nothing else it’s an interesting thought experiment but it’s fascinating to see a team with these rankings who is essentially on the bubble for the NIT while objectively worse teams will get at large bids to the NCAA tournament.
