Former Penn State OT Landon Tengwall has transitioned to sports media after his playing career was cut short due to injuries, and he did an excellent job breaking down the failings of PSU's defense against UCLA this past Saturday in the video below.

Not gonna lie, the refusal by Knowles to adapt his gameplan gave me PTSD flashbacks to the 1st Oregon game last year. Penn State didn't start spying Iamaleava until halfway through the 4th quarter, despite him running for 128 yards and 3 TDs on the game. I assume Knowles was sticking to how he defended Iamaleava last December in our game against Tennessee, where we rarely had a dedicated QB spy... but he failed to account for his less athletic LBs and lack of Caleb Downs at PSU, and then refused to rectify his mistake until the game was almost over. Additionally, his dogged commitment to a blitz scheme despite it's complete lack of effectiveness was also eerily familiar. 

All in all, my overriding emotion while watching this breakdown was gratitude that Matt Patricia is our current DC.
