That’s right, the team Ohio State clobbered 76-5, just beat Bowling Green, 44-3, and is now 6-4 overall, 5-1 in the MAC, and all alone in first place in the MAC East. If the RedHawks beat 0-10 Akron next week, even if they lose to Ball State, they’ll clinch their division.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati is 8-1 and in first place in the AAC East and FAU is 7-3 and in first place in the Conference USA East.
Yes, the rumors are true Ohio State didn’t play a P5 team and while I admit I haven’t checked, I’d be willing to bet there isn’t another team that played—much less defeated (by a combined score of 163-26, mind you)—three teams that are in first place in their respective divisions. Excluding those three losses to the Buckeyes, they’re all bowl eligible and 20-5 combined.
Congrats to Miami. Overcoming adversity is getting up one more time than you’re knocked down.
