I was listening to Steve Deace's Michigan Podcast on Youtube and he made 25 predictions for this upcoming season. One of them was Dantonio retiring after this year. On the radio up here yesterday they were talking about him possibly retiring as well. Deace's reasons were as follows:
1. He didn't hire anyone new when he clearly should have to prolong his stay in E Lansing. He kept his friends employed doing them a solid for one last run at MSU. Just reshuffled the staff.
2. He is only 7 wins away from becoming MSU's all time wins leader. Nice way to end a career there, claiming that record as his.
3. He is 63 and has been there since 2007.
Possible replacements include Pat Narduzzi and (barf) Luke Fickell if he has another good season. What do you think? Will he retire? If so, who would replace him, realistically?
