It has been a quarter of a century since the NFL transitioned to a seven-round NFL Draft (1994). With that, I wanted to see which schools have been the most successful at churning out professional players.

A few months back, I posted my research in regards to this very subject (Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/8mv2ko/25_years_of_modern_nfl_draf...). I only featured Power-5 schools due to the time requirements, but a few people remained curious about how schools outside of the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12, and SEC performed. Well, in my spare time, I enhanced the research, expanding it to include every single university, junior college, and community college that has had a player drafted in the last 25 years.

NOTE: All of my research was conducted on https://www.footballdb.com/draft/index.html

NOTE: I included selections in the Supplemental Draft so, technically, the 2018 draft cycle isn't officially complete.

“Draft Score” System:

1st Round: 7 Points
2nd Round: 6 Points
3rd Round: 5 Points
4th Round: 4 Points
5th Round: 3 Points
6th Round: 2 Points
7th Round: 1 Point

Positional Structure:

-Quarterbacks
-Running Backs/Fullbacks
-Wide Receivers
-Tight Ends
-Offensive Line
-Defensive Ends
-Defensive Tackles
-Linebackers
-Defensive Backs
-Special Teams (Kickers, Punters, & Long Snappers)

Key Terms:

Total Draft Score: Ranks teams in accordance with their Draft Score, with ties (if possible) being broken by the overall number of players a school has had drafted.
Individual Rankings: Based on a year-to-year basis.
Accumulated Rankings: Based on the combined Draft Scores since 1994.
5-Year Increment: Combines the 25 years worth of scoring into five 5-year increments (1994-1998, 1999-2003, 2004-2008, 2009-2013, & 2014-2018)
Draft Championship: Awarded to the school with the highest Total Draft Score in a given year.
