The AAF starts tonight and a standard contract is 3 years 250K. High Schoolers could choose to go to the AAF instead of college and focus on football year round while being coached by mostly ex-NFL coaches. The XFL is also starting in a couple years and the two leagues will be competing and need to beat out the other one. Could one of these position themselves by paying high schoolers to join their league? Kids will also be able to sign apparel deals and sign autographs.
I think the NCAA will react very slowly and a superstar QB or RB will be tempted by an apparel brand to go the AAF. Nike money to the first 5 star QB to shun college could be massive.
