Time flies: It feels like it was only last week that Northwestern and Purdue kicked off the 2018 season.
Forget Ash, Lovie, Frost and Allen—Rutgers, Illinois, Nebraska, and Indiana all had losing seasons.
Forget Ferentz, Chryst, Dantonio and Franklin—Iowa, Wisconsin, MSU and PSU all had winning seasons but underwhelmed. PSU was 6-3 in the B1G, while the other three were all 5-4.
Forget Fleck and Brohm, who barely got Minnesota and Purdue bowl eligible.
Forget Matt Canada, who might not even be given the UMD job full time.
Forget Harbaugh, who was tracking COY like a centerfielder on a routine fly ball...until he lost it in the spotlight and Michigan “blue up.”
And, much as it pains me to say it, forget Urban Meyer—ironically, despite having Woody’s name on it, this award was never meant to be given to an Ohio State coach, no matter how many obstacles he’s had to overcome nor how deserving he may be.
Smart money is on Pat Fitzgerald, who managed to go 0-3 OOC, including losing to 4-7 Akron, but 8-1 in the B1G.
Bring on Pat's Cats! It’s time for the Buckeyes to put a pin in that balloon!
