He left the program in May, transferring to Northwest Mississippi Community College

West Virginia dug back into Georgia today, adding another commitment to the 2018 class, albeit in a roundabout way when Northwest Mississippi (MS) C.C. cornerback Joshua Norwood pledged to the Mountaineers.

Norwood hails from Valdosta (GA), the same high school as current commit Jayce Rogers, signing with Ohio State out of high school. He chose the Buckeyes over offers from Duke, Minnesota, Cincinnati, and more. After two years in the program he chose to transfer and is going the bounceback route, attending JUCO for a season and enrolling in college in January. He will have two years to play two seasons for the Mountaineers.

Norwood is one of 18 total players committed to West Virginia in the class of 2018. The group is ranked No. 6 in the Big 12, and No. 37 overall.
