I remember last fall there was a lengthy forum discussion on how Booger McFarland viewed OSU. Booger is an ESPN employee, primarily covering the SEC. He was spitting his SEC homer-ism and started to question OSU. This weekend, he was filling in for Mel Kiper on the Dari and Mel Radio Show (ESPN-Radio). They invited callers to call in about which college football players have the most to provide in 2016. A caller from NC stated JT Barrett. Booger's response surprised me.
To paraphrase Booger stated the following: He mentioned this was an excellent pick from the caller and that he agrees, JT has a lot to prove. Discussed his freshmen year, splitting time with Cardale, injury, etc. He then mentioned that he feels OSU will win the Big 10 and make it to the college football playoff. He said there is a ton of young talent and that this group of young talent will be hungry. Stated last year's team wasn't as hungry coming off the Championship and that players like Zeke, Bosa, Lee, etc. played hard but didn't show that edge they did before. Believes OSU will ride Barrett to a playoff match-up.
I thought I would share because most national pundits are labeling us as too young while teams like Bama and Sparty are getting a pass when they are near the bottom of the experience chart themselves. I think our youth will serve us well this season, but do believe we'll blow a game or two we should have won.
