I'm not sure you could find a more meaningless competition from which to derive pleasure from your rival's performance - so props to this WSJ columnist Rachel Bachman in that respect.
The point of her article is that Ohio State fans finished towards the end of last year's Big Ten 10K, an event put on by the Big Ten Network, when ranked by school:
"Ohio State rules the Big Ten in football. But in running, Buckeyes alumni and fans trail the pack."
The article seemed so misplaced (and pointless) that I looked up her Bio and indeed, she is a TSUN grad. I guess when your team hits a stretch of mediocrity like TTUN has, you'll take anything to ease the pain.
