My small town is trying to unload the local VFW building, which closed due to lack of veterans. It's in the city center of a typical small town (not a lot going on). I was just in there, and it's about 1200 sq ft of rough space with a basement that's about 900 sq ft more. There's also an empty lot next to the property that goes with it.
On the upside, they're practically ready to give it away. On the downside, I don't know what kind of costs to expect or what could be done with it. Utilities, insurance and taxes at a minimum. And it's going to need work.
So can anyone help with what to expect?
And can anyone suggest what kind of business to start while we're all sheltering in place? IMO, it could be a good opportunity and maybe time to do something myself when so many employers are letting people go.
