Okay, here's the situation:  You are granted one wish, and it is a powerful one.  First, no malevolent genie twisting your words.  Second, think big.  You want to be a hundred billionaire, fine.  You want to cure all cancer with a snap of the fingers, no problem.  Want to live the life of Augustus Caesar and then change whatever you want, yours.  Want to bring back a variety of dead relatives, sure.  Want to receive total consciousness on your deathbed (or before), done.

Now here's the catch.  The same power that is granting you the wish also informs you that the human race will be almost certainly (95% chance) wiped out in 1,000 years time.  Asteroid, aliens, disease, climate; doesn't matter, but the event is certain and has a 95% chance of being complete.  You can use your wish to prevent that.  And there's no clevering your way around it, either save the human race 1,000 years from now or use the wish for something more immediate.  

For those who need it, whatever higher power you need is the one informing you and giving the wish; and your choice, whatever it may be is all part of the divine plan, and there is no wrong choice in 'His' eyes, so no punishment or anything.

So, do you save the human race 50 generations from now, or do you chose something else?
