It seems Nike recent update to its self tying shoe software has bricked them so the left shoe refuses, to, uhm, re-boot. They lace themselves, tell you how much battery life is left, and have lights.
The Android app doesn't connect properly and failed software updates render the shoes unable to lace themselves. It's pretty sneaky of Nike not to beta test the software before they kicked it out into the field. No word if if that's the sole problem afflicting the shoes or if Nike will foot the bill for repairs. If they don't they'd be real heels.
Let the punishment begin.
