Here we are at the 75th edition, still going strong as ever! Pressed for time right now as I have a ton of things on my plate (including a roast beef sandwich), but I have what I think are four excellent songs for your perusal.

First up, in honor of the World Cup that's starting up in less than two weeks we have this incredibly catchy song from Jason Derulo, the official Coca Cola anthem of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, "Colors."

Up next, since the World Cup is being held in Russia, I thought it was only fitting that we have a song from Russia. And who else would I pick to represent that vast country but my favorite Russians, Arkona. This song is called "Slavsia Rus"

Next, for a bit of a change, we're going to check out a song from American folk group The Handsome Family. This song was made famous when it was used as the intro music for the truly excellent first season of HBO's True Detective. This is "Far From Any Road."

And last up, we have a song by Cheb Khaled of Algeria. Cheb Khaled is revered in Algeria as well as the rest of North Africa, where he's referred to as "the King" in much the same way Americans would have referred to Elvis Presley. This song, recorded in French, comes from his most popular album, Aicha. This is "Le Jour Viendra" (The Day Will Come.)
